Airpouf

OUT OF COLLECTION

It’s a hard life for vacuum cleaners, although they are essential electrical appliances, they can hardly be considered as pleasant items. Lorenzo Damiani (2005) has worked on their substance and shape to create Airpouf. He has succeeded in transforming a difficult object into a clever piece of furniture, round and comfortable, movable and ready for anything: it can be both a ottoman and a cleaning wizard ready at all times. The little ball that stops the air valve is a playful symbol, a little bit magical as well: when the vacuum cleaner is on, it starts floating in the air with a surprise effect. Dedicated to those who still have the eyes of a child.

Born in 1972, Lorenzo Damiani graduated in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano and obtained a master’s degree in industrial design at the Polytechnic School of Design.

His areas of intervention vary from furniture and product design. He has worked with several companies including Campeggi, Cappellini, Ceramica Flaminia, Montina, Illy Caffè, IB Rubinetterie, Diamantini & Domeniconi, BBB Emme Bonacina, Lavazza.

In 2009, the Triennale Design Museum dedicated him a solo exhibition “But where are the Inventors? Lorenzo Damiani “curated by Marco Romanelli. In 2012, two other exhibitions followed: Lorenzo Damiani: No Style, curated by Giovanna Castiglioni, held at the Foundation Achille Castiglioni and “Catch Me”, curated by Silvana Annichiarico, at the Milan Triennale.

Designing puts him in a good mood. Car owner.
